The problems continue

We went to Jan and Keith's yesterday evening. Janet commented on my weightloss and of course asked how I'd lost it and then said one of the girls at work had been on LighterLife since Decembe and lost loads. So she wasn't quite as anti the diet as I thought she would be. One thing she did say, however, was that I was looking old, especially around the eyes (thanks a lot, best friend!). A bit of a bummer this as even tjoughI've now reached the riupe old age of 51, NO-ONE would guess I was that age. I've always looked a lot younger than my age.

My chin and eyes hade been itchy again during Sunday. Wondering now if milk could be the problem? Mum gave me a cup of tea with milk on Saturday and then yesterday morning I had Special K with milk and a cup of tea -could that have been enough for a reaction? I was very good with my choice of food at Jan and Keith's and then kept the peace by having a very small slice of cheesecake and scoop of ice-cream. Half hour later I went to the loo and saw red eyes in the mirror!!! God! I'm fed up with all this. Before LighterLife I was eating dairy with no 'obvious' reactions (but could the bowel problems be a reaction - I don't know????)

What are we going to do with you? LOL

As rambled on before on your BLOG, I know how uncomfortable and concerning when you don't know what's happening tummy wise. I hope you get some answers. I know at particularly sensitive periods milk in tea when visit somebody could push me over the edge, never mind about ice-cream, cheese etc!

You friend is just getting used to seeing you in a new shape, she will get over it. The important thing is whether you feel you look older? You have had many sore eye episodes which is bound to take it's toll as the skin is delicate around this area. If you don't already uses one, get an eye cream. I have just bought one for M & S, only £5 and recommended in a mag (it's the one with the red lid).

Take Care,

Keep up the dieting as best you can, not long to go now

Hello Chris,

Sorry to hear you're suffering with a bowel problem. Certainly sounds like you could do with seeing your GP and being firm about referral to a specialist.

I have irritable bowel syndrome which strangely is only triggered by stress. It started after I'd had Jacob and especially worse during my parents divorce, since then whenever I'm in stressful situations or feeling pressured, I get an instant stomach cramping and have a 10 second countdown to find a toilet.

Hope the non-ketosis method works for you, I'm not aware of the GI diet or how it works, but I'm sure that whichever way you do it, you're still sure to lose weight, even if it might mean at a slower pace than on LL and CD. You've done so well with your weight loss, and the amount you've lost already is fantastic, maybe it's now a good time to find a more 'maintaining' method of losing weight, finding something which suits your body and lifestyle now, will make maintenance an easier transition.

Hope you are okay, make an appointment, Be Assertive and Firm! Don't take no fobbing off which the medical proffession are always quick to do.

Dear Chris

Poor you! This health malarkey is no fun and you definitely need to sort it out. As you've got health insurance, use it! Push to see a specialist.

My GP thought I had one condition (he specialises in dermatology) and was so convinced he sent me away three times. Turns out it's a genetic thing (and more serious) and so rare that there is only one specialist in the country and it was through health insurance and persistance that I found out what was really going on. I say this not to alarm you but to say you really can push!

So, your body is telling you something and after all your hard work, you deserve to sort out the problems. You deserve good health! After all this, is it any wonder you look tired?! I thought you looked v.young, in spite of the red eyes when you posted some photos.

Wishing you much luck and please, get those appointments beyond the GP!

Thinking of you.

Just catching up on the blogs and really sorry to read that you're eyes have started flaring up again, it's so not fair - stamps foot.

Can't believe your friend said that about your eyes - it's probably not an age thing she's seeing but the effects of all the trouble you've been having.
